There are a lot of titles in the Penguin CBs series, and with a few months of scrounging online maybe 40-60% of them you could replace, if money were no object, from FS, but there will be others that you can't. So you aren't likely to replace that title with any of the FS editions as this is a time in-between printings when none are available. Or it may see a reprinting in the next 3-5 years. Or they might never, because it was truly a quality edition and I don't see anyone parting with it who didn't buy it specifically to resell. Some might crop up in another year or two, first at 150% the list price and then finally closer to or just below the list price. That version sold out earlier this year (kicking myself I missed it as it was affordable), and there are zero aftermarket copies available of this. They also released the book from the limited edition as a stand-alone Fine Edition (without commentary book or solander box) and with a different color scheme for $150, in 2017. They also released a separate, limited edition for $450 (now worth over $1K) that quickly sold out, in 2013. Of all those, how many are currently available from aftermarket sellers? About five in three countries in various conditions and of various printings. FS has printings from 1974, 1998, 2004, and 2009 for one particular edition. I'll use Moby Dick as an example since I've been in the market for it lately and have just done all the research. FS is infamous for lapsing their editions and going many years between printings. At one point or another, they have all likely had multiple prints or even multiple editions from FS, but you aren't likely to be able to find all of them aftermarket at the same time. Penguin Clothbounds are popular classic titles that have never been out of print, but that doesn't mean they're all currently in print from FS. But the biggest issue you're going to have isn't just the (huge) price differential, but availability. The cover designs don't rub off (though they can become damaged from the slipcase), they lie flat when opened (though heavy pages may mean you have to press it flat), and so on. Of course I'd echo everyone else here that FS has the superior editions.
